EU regulation classifying AI systems by risk level and imposing requirements on developers and deployers, entered into force August 2024. GPAI systemic-risk rules have applied since August 2025; obligations for Annex III high-risk systems were deferred from August 2026 to December 2027 by the Digital Omnibus amendment.
